2013 Reynella Basket Pressed Shiraz
Small parcels of individual vineyard fruit form the highly acclaimed McLaren Vale region were selected for this rich traditional Shiraz.
The grapes were carefully picked and fermented in small open fermenters. Once the desired fruit intensity was achieved, the skins were basket pressed ensuring only the soft tannins were extracted. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for 16 months when the selected final components were blended to achieve the classic
McLaren Vale Shiraz.
2013 vintage saw the return of traditional South Australian climate with cool damp winter and hot dry summer. Meticulous vineyard management practices ensured that the fruit survived high temperatures and produced high quality fruit with impressive varietal characteristics. Picking at optimum maturity has resulted in wines which display vibrant colours with ripe flavour profiles, rounded flavoursome palates and soft fine tannins. The 2013 Reynella Shiraz is a fine example of the generosity of the McLaren Vale Shiraz but also exhibits the hallmarks of the Reynella House Style – richness, density, structure and length.
