2021 HRB Chardonnay
The combination of three of the best cool climate chardonnay regions in Australia - Yarra Valley, Pemberton and Margaret River - help provide distinct regional characters to this wine. This wine has a richness brought on by complexity along with character through the wine created by the finesse used to blend this 2021 HRB chardonnay.
TASTING NOTES: Fragrant aromatics showing barrel fermentation and sweet ripe lemon and peach aromas coupled with a palate of sweet ripe fruit, complexing balanced oak (100% French oak for 8 months) and fine acid backbone giving the wine wonderful length of flavour.
Light straw gold. This wine has aromas of sweet lemon, ripe stone fruit and complexing warm spices that are balanced by sweet oak spice.The palate is full of fresh lifted fruit notes such as lime, lemon, peach and nectarine. The wine has a juicy acidity on the palate with beautifully balanced richness and creaminess created by the barrel fermentation and lees contact.
The fruit intensity is the hallmark of this wine. 2021 shows a range of complexing fruit characteristics from lime curd and blood orange through to rich peach. This fruit intensity lays the ground of complexity from oak, malo and lees stirring offering mid palate richness, nutty cashew and almond oak characters with a long-textured acid line.
