NV 202 Main Rd Sparkling Shiraz
202 Main Road, McLaren Vale has been the home of Hardys wines since 1876. Our Tintara Winery remains a testament to quality winemaking, combining old age methods and new technology
Each of the 202 Main Road varietals tells the Hardys story using key imagery from our archives. This image is of the Cooperage at Tintara winery, and tells the story of the days before reliable transport, and how many wineries, including ours, made their own barrels. These cooperages would import oak and use it to craft barrels that suited the styles that our winemakers sought. The use of Oak is still part of the Hardys winemaking philosophy today.
The 202 Main Road Sparkling Shiraz is a rich and luscious sparkling wine. Bright red fruit flavours and complex sweet oak on the nose are complemented by moderate sweetness on the palate, firm structural tannin and a soft and natural acid finish.
